City of Gardner Parklet (Mobile Park) Survey - We need your input!

Post Date:08/31/2018 4:14 PM

Gardner is one of 129 communities across the nation that was awarded grant funding as part of the AARP Community Challenge grant program to create vibrant public spaces for people of all ages.

Gardner will use the funds to create a pop-up mini-park (parklet) as a place to rest or socialize in the shade along the city’s Downtown sidewalk network. A parklet is a sidewalk extension that repurposes vehicle space as space for people. This ADA accessible parklet is the first step toward creating permanent public parks (civic greens) for flexible community activities in the heart of Gardner, as envisioned in the Gardner Main Street Corridor Plan.

The goal is for the parklet to be shared and used by many people in the community; therefore, the city is seeking the input of its residents via a survey to help create the parklet design. Please complete the survey by 5 p.m. on September 12 to provide your feedback.
