Annexation
Generally, there is no fee or charge for City annexation, unless title issues require further legal work. The City requires property owners to pay compensation for rural water district facilities that the City must purchase pursuant to K.S.A. 12-527. After the annexation request is considered and approved by the City Council, the annexation ordinance becomes effective upon its publication in the official City newspaper, The Gardner News.
