Starting January 25, 2018, the City of Gardner will hold its fourth Gardner You! Citizen Academy class. Gardner You! is a seven-week interactive civic and public information program that focuses on educating residents and business owners about the city’s governmental processes.

The City of Gardner, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, will host a ribbon cutting and grand opening for Gardner’s new Dairy Queen on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. All members of the public are invited to attend, with the first 25 guests receiving a free mini-blizzard.

The public is invited to attend the City of Gardner's second annual Veterans Appreciation Program to honor its local service members for their service.
The third public meeting for the Main Street Corridor Plan will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12, 5-8 p.m., at the Gardner Senior Center.
The City of Gardner is celebrating Public Power Week, Oct. 1-7, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.
Gardner’s new fall event, Grand Slam Beer and Wine Festival, has sold out. For $20.50 per ticket, 800 members of the public will enjoy libations by several local breweries and wineries on Friday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Nearly 70 teams will participate in the Smoke on the Trails BBQ Competition in Gardner, Kansas. This Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS)-sanctioned event will take place on Sept. 29 and 30, 2017, at Celebration Park, 32501 W. 159th St.
