Garder's main roads are in pretty good shape; however, the residential streets will take some time to complete due to the challenging conditions and freezing temperatures.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the City of Gardner with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending in 2017.
