The 11th Annual Danisco Prairie Punisher Duathlon, presented by the Gardner Parks and Recreation Department, consists a 5k run, a 34.5k bike ride, followed by a 5k run. A 5k run as well as a 5k walk will be held in conjunction with the Duathlon. All 5k walk proceeds will support Gardner Gold Special Olympics. This event is USAT certified. No race day sign-ups.

Rules
As the Danisco Prairie Punisher Duathlon is a USAT sanctioned event, all USAT rules apply. Consult http://www.usatriathlon.org for more information.
- An entrant may not transfer his/her entry. Substitutes will not be allowed to participate.
- A helmet must be worn during the bike segment.
- No drafting allowed.
- All entrants must be checked-in between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., Saturday, July 21.
Awards
Awards will be based on participants’ ages as of December 31, 2012 due to USAT requirements, not age on race day.

Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd Overall Male and Female in each age group

Timing
Chip timing will be used. A $50.00 fee will be charged if chip is not returned.
Weather
Participants may be exposed to extreme weather conditions including 90+ degree heat and humidity. Participants should train for these conditions and be well-hydrated prior to the event. For information in case of inclement weather, call the weather hotline at 913-905-1770.
There will be no rain date or rescheduling of this event. NO REFUNDS.
