About the Library

Gardner Library is part of the Johnson County Library system. As such you are able to use the whole Johnson County library system to expand your leisure, educational, and technical reading environment. The library system is also available online.

Library Services

  • Business Services: Find Internet links, links to our business databases, a list of community organizations, and much more.
  • Computers and Printing: Each Johnson County Library branch provides public computre to access the library's online catalog, perform word processing and spread sheet development, and access to the Internet.
  • Computer Training Classes: The Johnson County Library offers classes free of charge to assist you in using the Library's computer software and catalog programs. You can browse the class schedule by library or by class.
  • Genealogy Services: The Central Resource Library Genealogy collection includes census indexes, passenger lists, family histories, Civil War records, and other resources valuable for genealogical research.
  • Interlibrary Loan: Learn how Interlibrary Loan can help you obtain materials that are not available at any of the Johnson County Library locations.
  • Meeting Rooms: Here you will find out how to reserve a room at at Johnson County Library for meetings.
  • Outreach Services: Outreach services are provided for both youth and adults, including: home delivery of library materials (HomeConnect), visits and presentation by library staff, talks by local and national authors, and more.
  • Reader’s Advisory: Reader's Advisory staff are reference librarians that specialize in: finding good books to read, suggesting an author, or helping with titles of books you may have read in the past and forgotten.
