Code Enforcement/Property Maintenance

The City of Gardner is committed to providing a safe, clean, and attractive community.

The Codes Enforcement Inspector investigates complaints and enforces the City codes regarding property maintenance issues, such as:

tall grass and vegetation
  and  junk and debris

and the inappropriate placement of temporary "garage sale" type signs

The Codes Inspector also investigates and enforces the codes regarding the inappropriate storage of recreational vehicles.

Residents may contact the Codes Enforcement Inspector at City Hall (913-856-0908) for further information or to report violations.  Upon a formal complaint, the inspector will inspect the property to determine any violations, and a letter will be sent to the property owner stating the violation and time allowed to correct the problem.  Failure to comply with City ordinances may result in fines or abatement cost attachments to the property, as set forth by the City code.

Complaints regarding inoperable or unlicensed vehicles should be directed to the Public Safety Department.
