Today Gardner is growing more rapidly than many other Kansas City Area Communities:

  • In 2006, the City of Gardner annexed over 252 acres of land into its boundaries. Today Gardner is approximately 9.79 square miles.
  • In 2006 the City completed the expansion of the Hillsdale Water Treatment Plant from 2 million gallons a day capacity to 4 million gallons a day. A new water tower is planned to come online in 2007n as well. This is just one example of how Gardner works to meet the needs of its residents as the City continues its rapid growth.
  • In areas currently under development, the City accepted increasingly more miles of streets, water lines, storm sewers and sanitary sewer lines (see chart below).
