Current Projects

Northside Lift Station - Construction of the new Northside Lift Station located north of W. 167th Street on the east side of Gardner Road, which commenced in May of 2006, was completed in December of 2007.  This facility replaces the old North Lift Station that was near the intersection of N. Center Street and W. Colleen Drive, which did not have sufficient capacity to meet future wastewater demands.

Bull Creek Wastewater Plant Conversion - The Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant located on S. Meadowbrook Circle, has been converted to a lift station that pumps to the Kill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Because the Bull Creek plant needed major repairs, expansion, or replacement to meet the rapidly growing needs of the City, the Kill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, located on W. 159th Street west of Waverly Road, was contructed and opened in 2002.

Bull Creek Force Main - The Bull Creek Force Main was an integral part of the Bull Creek Lift Station Conversion project.  Construction of the force main began in March of 2008 and was completed in July of 2008.  The Bull Creek Lift Station was started up upon completion of the force main.

Kill Creek Benefit District and Lift Station - Gravity and force mains will be installed in the area boundaried by W. 159th Street, W. 151st Street, Four Corners Road, and Waverly Road.  This project started in the fall of 2006 and is now substantially complete.

Decommissioning and Removal of the Interim Package Plant - The wastewater package plant located on W. 188th Street and east of S. Center Street, which was constructed as an interim facility to supplement the old Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, has been decommissioned and will be removed by the end of the summer of 2008.  With the construction of the Kill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and the conversion of the Bull Creek plant to a lift station, the interim package plant is no longer necessary and has been sold.

Upgrade of the Wastewater Master Plan - The Wastewater Master Plan will be updated to reflect the considerable growth of the City in the last four years. The updated plan is expected to indicate improvements to the system that will be necessary to maintain optimum services as the City continues to grow.  The study is expected to be coplete by December of 2008.
