ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Electric:  Salary Range: $28,920 - $40,440/yr.  The City of Gardner is accepting applications for Administrative Assistant to provide administrative functions and works under the direction of the Distribution Supervisor and other administrative staff with Gardner Energy.  Requires High School diploma or GED and a minimum of two (2) years experience in office work, or any equavalent combination of training and experience that provides the appropriate knowledge, abilities, and skills.  Operates computer using Microsoft Office (primarily Word and Excel), as well as entering and retrieving data on various city software programs.  Hours:  M-F; 7-4.  Applications are available at City Hall or on-line at www.gardnerkansas.gov  Submit completed applications to City of Gardner, Human Resources Department, 120 E main, Gardner KS  66030.  Application Review Date: 3/12/10.  All offers of employment are conditinal upon the successful completion of a post offer physical exam, drug screen, and background check including driving record.  EOE.

ELECTRIC OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR:  Salary Range:  $64,044 - $75,936/yr.  The City of Gardner is accepting applications for the Electric Operations Supervisor, a knowledgeable and experienced electrical engineer who supervises, delegates, evaluates and methodically assigns the resources of manpower, equipment & materials required in the design, construction, operation, maintenance and repair of Gardner Energy’s high voltage electric substations, transmission system and combustion turbine generators. The position works closely with KMEA to contract and schedule the electric power supply for the City of Gardner. Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of two years of professional experience (electric power systems preferred) in project management, contract administration, design, review and construction of projects and/or supervisory responsibilities. Must have a valid driver’s license. Licensure in the state of Kansas as a Professional Engineer (PE) within four years of employment. Hours: M-F; 8-5.
