City Administrator - The City of Gardner, KS (pop. 19,123) is seeking a City Administrator to serve as chief administrative officer. Growing and progressive community located in southwestern Johnson County within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Position reports to Mayor & 5-member City Council; $55.7 million budget with 117 FTE’s. 

Requires BA in public or business administration or related field, advanced degree preferred along with 5 yrs of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in local government. City is seeking professional leaders with solid background in municipal government including community development and growth management, finance, staff team building and creating strong community partnerships.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills desired along with experience in community visioning and consensus-based long range planning.  ICMA Credentialed Manager designation desired, but not required. 

The starting salary up to $110,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Competitive benefit package is included.

School Crossing Guard - The Gardner Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Crosswalk Guard.  The position is part-time, working 10 hours per week when school is in session.  Uniforms, equipment and traning provided.  Salary: $8.50/hr.  Apply between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; M-F at the Police Department, 440 E Main Street, Gardner KS  66030.  Contact the Police Department at (913) 856-7312 with questions.  EOE
