Welcome Mat-West is a Ju-Jitsu/Judo club located in Gardner, Kansas.  We specialize in the ego-free instruction of Shingitai Ju-Jitsu, Kodokan Judo, Russian Sambo, and submission grappling.  As an affiliate of the Welcome-Mat Judo Club of Kansas City, which was extablished by Coach Steve Scott in 1969, instructors Nick Rothwell, Jeff Owens, and Brad Powell continue the tradition of fun, tough, and practical martial arts training.  This course offers accredited coaching through the Amateur Athletic Union.  Real life self-defense, sport (tournament) judo, and Shingitai Ju-Jitsu with gi and no-gi applications is provided.

Nick Rothwell, senior instructor, holds black belts in Shingitai Ju-Jitsu and Kodokan Judo.  He offers several years of wrestling and martial arts coaching experience to anyone willing to learn.  Jeff Owens and Brad Powell are assistant instructors for Welcome Mat-West.  Brad and Jeff both hold brown belt ranks in Shingitai Ju-Jitsu and Kodokan Judo.  All three instructors live and raise families in Gardner.  Welcome Mat-West operates under the attitude of everyone is WELCOME!

	Once registered, please pick up a punch card at Gardner City Hall located at 120 E. Main St.  The card is required to enter class.  If card is not with participant at class time, it will be required for participant to sign a form stating that an additional punch will be taken at the next class. Our hours at City Hall are 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
