This Nationally Certified Course teaches CERT teams to perform essential life-saving functions while awaiting the arrival of professional emergency responders following a disaster. This course will teach you about disaster readiness, helping people, safety rescue and doing the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Through training, citizens will learn how to manage utilities and put out small fires; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely and organize volunteers to be effective. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens' actions can make a difference. This 10 week course is instructed by Certified CERT Trainers. Upon completion of all units of the CERT program, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certificates will be issued.
