Park Rules & Regulations

General Reservation Guidelines For All Parks and Recreation Facilities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to make a facility reservation.
  • Gardner Parks and Recreation Department programs have scheduling priority.
  • Reservations may be made up to 12 months in advance.
  • No more than 2 reservations allowed to be made at a time.
  • A maximum of 2 reservations are allowed within a week.
  • Reservations are made on a first come first served basis.
  • Payment and deposit must be given at the time the reservation is being made.
  • Reservations must be made a minimum of 72 business hours in advance.
  • Reservations may be made up to one year in advance.
  • Keys to the Senior Building may be checked out at City Hall 48 hours before reservation. Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • There is a $30 per hour fee for set-up or clean-up request.
  • Organizations or individuals that are not exempt from fees may request a reduction or waiver of fees. A fee waiver request form must be filled out and presented to the customer service representative. The Parks and Recreation Director will review the request and respond.
  • Deposit will be mailed to the customer after facility inspection has been completed and keys have been returned. Cash deposits may take up to 2 weeks to be returned.
  • The Gardner Parks and Recreation Department has the right to approve or disapprove any reservation.
  • Requested special circumstances must have the approval of the Director of Parks and Recreation.
  • The City has the right to review rates for the use of facilities at any time.
  • You must notify the City of any function in which you will be using City property to make a profit.
  • Reservation cancellations must be made at least 48 business hours prior to the rental date or the deposit will be forfeited.
  • Gardner Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel reservations and/or forfeit the deposit and rental fee if the facility is not left to its requirements, damage has occurred, or any of the rules and regulations were broken.
  • If a reservation is cancelled due to reasons beyond the control of either party, it may be rescheduled or refunds will be given or pro-rated.
  • No alcohol permitted at any City facility.
  • Restrooms will not be available for outdoor reservations October –March.
  • Have your copy of the reservation agreement with you at the time of your reservation. This will be proof to others that you have the facility booked.
Senior Building Rules and Regulations
  • Building key can be checked out no earlier than one day in advance and must be returned within 3 days after the reservation.
  • Building must be left in clean and in good condition.
  • Furniture must be returned to the original arrangement. (Please see placement map located on the wall near the thermostat).
  • Bring your own kitchen and cleaning equipment. (Refrigerator is available)
  • Trash is to be deposited in the dumpster behind the building.
  • Floors must be cleaned of debris and wiped down. (A vacuum and mop are available in the hall closet)
  • Tables and chairs must be cleaned of debris and wiped down.
  • The restrooms must be left clean and in good working order.
  • The lights in the building must be turned off and doors must be locked at the end of the rental.
  • No alcoholic beverages or smoking allowed inside the building.
  • The City will not be held liable for accidents and/or damages.

Athletic Facilities Rules and Regulations
  • Trash must be picked up and placed in trashcans.
  • Equipment must be returned to its original place.
  • Lights to fields must be turned off.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.
  • The City will not be held liable for accidents and/or damages.
  • Concession stand cannot be rented.
  • Keep all vehicles in the parking lot at all times.

Swimming Pool Rules and Regulations
  • The group or individuals who have rented the pool must follow all established facility rules and laws, or the party may be cancelled and rental fees forfeited.
  • Groups must stay within the estimated number of participants.
  • Facility must be left clean and in good condition.
  • All trash must be placed in trashcans located within the facility.
  • No alcoholic beverages or smoking allowed within the facility.
  • Individual renting the pool must be at least 18 years of age and must be present during the entire reservation.
  • Concession stand is off limits to non-pool employees.
  • The Gardner pool staff has the right to close the pool or cancel the party for any reason that is deemed necessary.
  • Number of lifeguards will be staffed based on number of estimated participants.

Park Shelters Rules and Regulations
  • Shelter must be left clean and in good condition.
  • Picnic tables must be returned into original arrangement.
  • Trash must be placed in trashcans.
  • No alcoholic beverages are allowed in parks.
