Welcome to the Utility Services section of the City of Gardner's website. This portion of the site is designed to assist utility users with a variety of utility related needs.

The City of Gardner operates two not-for-profit municipal utilities: water and wastewater.  Gardner Energy operates the electric utility which is also not-for-profit.   This makes the City of Gardner unique in the metro region. Gardner is one of only a few municipalities that operates one or more of these utilities. Because of this, the response to incidents involving any of the utilities is local and therefore, responds to the needs of its customers.

The Gardner City Council, in conjunction with the City Administrator and Public Works Department, oversees the efficiency and effectiveness of the water and wastewater utilities. The City Council continually monitors performance of the utilities and annually reviews rates at a hearing open to the public for comment.  If you have questions related to your water or wastewater service, call 913-856-0914.

 

The Electric Utility Board, a voluntary group of five citizens who were nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, oversees Gardner Energy.  This Board is responsible for the planning, development, production, transmission and distribution of all electricity for the City of Gardner.  If you have questions realted to your electric service, call 913-856-7256. 

The City of Gardner communicates information regarding its utilities in a publication called the Utility News, which is inserted into Monthly Utility Statements. This informative publication provides consumers with information on utility projects, conservation methods, new programs and services, and rates.

Conservation
The Conservation section is designed to provide the residents and businesses with a brief overview of ways to conserve on utility bills. The City Utilities section provides specific conservation information for the three municipally owned utilities.

Online Payments
Utility Billing Online offers customers a convenient way to track and pay their electric, water and sewer payments and provides a record of how much utilities they use over time. Customers can obtain billing information by registering using their utility account number and PIN. The web page walks you through registration.

Other Utilities
This page listes utilities which are provided to those who live outside the Gardner City Limits. These include electric, gas, telephone, cable, internet and trash service.
